Even if you conduct business under a different name your money counts as income and you are responsible for it.  Further, the IRS will discover what you do and cheaters are always found out.

Whether or not you decide to use a pseudonym for the business you decide to do is totally your choice.  For lots of people it is merely easier to have one name for their offline life and another for their internet life. Other folks like retaining things under their legal names because it is just easier.
